Repository

A repository where we will put our Unity game

Cloning repository:

  1. Download Github for Desktop: https://desktop.github.com/

  2. On GitHub, navigate to the main page of the repository.

  3. Under your repository name, click to clone your repository in Desktop. Follow the prompts in GitHub Desktop to complete the clone. For more information, see “Cloning a repository from GitHub to GitHub Desktop.”

Open cloned repository:

  1. Open Unity 2018.4.14f1
  2. Open ActualGame_SOA folder (inside UbisoftGameLab2020)

Testing

  1. Once you have opened the game in Unity open MyScenes folder and try scenes
  2. Sci-fy scene can be found here: Imported Assets/_DNLK/PlatformCity/Scene

Updating changes on Github Desktop

WARNING: Please do not pull directly into the master. Use following steps and commit a BRANCH first then push the BRANCH and open a PULL REQUEST

  1. Within Github Desktop select UbisoftGameLab2020 as Current Repository
  2. Check if anyone made changes (fetch will give you a view of others commits without changing your local code/pull will change your local code)
  3. Create a new Branch with the name of the feature you implemented or use an existing one
  4. If the branch is new, publish it on Github
  5. Check changed local files that you want to upload
  6. Add a description
  7. Commit your changes to the branch
  8. Push origin (your branch will be seen on Github repository under branches)
  9. Then “Open a pull request” (once accepted, it will merge files to the master branch. If someone want to use this new code, go to Github Desktop/Repository/Pull but carefully it may results in conflicts)
